Pink Tartan’s fall/winter collection put us on better terms with the polar vortex. The juxtaposition between the minimalist clothing and larger-than-life cold weather accessories made for one of Kimberly Newport-Mimran’s best collections yet. As the first model walked out in a giant knit foulard wrapped around her head and neck and giant fur mittens (which we’ve deemed the fur oven mitts…but in the most loving way possible) we knew that the entire collection would be drool-worthy.
Winter classics like fair isle sweaters, turtlenecks and plaid outerwear were scattered throughout the collection with some fur thrown in for that extra touch of luxe. Standout pieces included a bronze and gold metallic brocade dress topped off with a fur vest, fur pants (or were they leg warmers? We couldn’t exactly tell) worn underneath a metallic blue skirt, and the “sleeping bag” coat with fur trim — we honestly wouldn’t mind braving the cold if we could walk around in that fabulous piece.
