Tenerife’s Los Cristianos is one of the island’s loveliest resorts and one of the nicest on any of the Canary Islands,  it is popular amongst tourists for its pretty beaches and bustling harbour that offers fishing trips and pleasure cruises. The resort’s main beach is perfect for swimming as it has excellent facilities including showers and sunbeds. The beach is bordered by a pedestrian promenade where most of the resort’s restaurants, bars and cafes are situated. At night, the resort lights up and is one the busiest areas in Tenerife. Los Cristianos has boutiques, designer labels and other shops where you can pick up a bargain, making it a shopper’s paradise.

Boat trips are the perfect way to spend a day out and Los Cristianos harbour has many excursions to offer. Visitors can take an outing in a glass-bottomed boat which allows you to look safely at the treasures of the marine world without even getting your hair wet! Diving excursions are a great way to get up close and personal with underwater life. Ferry trips are available to the neighbouring La Gomera if you fancy exploring somewhere new.

Finding things to do in Tenerife is not going to be that hard as it is a great place to go whale-watching and while you’re on a boat you should be sure to look out for a sight of the whales and dolphins that reside off the island’s shores. This is one of the most popular things to do in the Canary Islands. Between the waters of Tenerife and La Gomera swims one of the world’s largest pods so keep your eyes peeled and take your camera with you.

What to see in Tenerife:

El Teide
Want a breath-taking view? Then this is for you. The highest mountain in Spain and tourists can either take the 10 minute cable lift to the top which costs $45 each way, or choose to climb the summit with which special permission is needed by the National Park Office in Santa Cruz.

Loro Parque
If going to the zoo is more your thing then head to the zoo located on the outskirts of Puerto de la Cruz. The park also has  Europe’s largest dolphin show pool, the world’s largest indoor penguin exhibition and the longest shark tunnel in Europe.

The Güímar Pyramids
One of the most popular destinations for tourist, this is the perfect place for those who love history. This ethnographic park is located at around 26 kilometres away from Santa Cruz de Tenerife.  The site showcases  6 rectangular pyramid-shaped terraced structures built from lava stone without the use of mortar all dating  back to the 19th century and are supposedly a byproduct of contemporary agricultural techniques.
