Today marked the 10th annual White Cashmere fundraiser, a celebration of fashion design, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, and cashmere bathroom tissue. The event is all about showcasing amazingly talented Canadian designers, who each year take on the challenge of designing one of a kind dresses made completely out of cashmere bathroom tissue! All proceeds go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and help raise awareness.
In honour of its 10th anniversary, the event paid tribute to its unique history and brought back the best designs from the past nine years. Curator and Artistic Director, Farley Chatto, proudly announced that this year was the largest show to-date with 20 prominent and emerging Canadian designers participating, including Joseph Helmer, Anastasia Lomonova, Marie Saint Pierre, and David Dixon to name a few. Each piece on the runway was made of 100 per cent luxurious White and Pink Cashmere Bathroom Tissue (part of their limited edition), and a lot of imagination- pretty amazing right?!
Canada AM Co-Host, Bev Thomson and Montreal based fashion journalist and blogger, Lolitta Dandoy, both breast cancer survivors, shared their stories of courage and resilience and reminded everyone of the importance of the cause.
Remember October is breast cancer awareness month! With every purchase of the Pink Cashmere Limited Edition Bathroom Tissue, twenty-five cents will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
