Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar
Lafitte’s is hard to describe unless you’ve experienced it, but is is a tavern that was built in the 1700s, and we were told that it’s the oldest running bar in the US.
You take a step into Laffite’s and it’s lit only by lanterns. It was packed and the building was clearly very old (in fact, from the outside it looks a little like it will cave in). The drinks are great and the ambience is bizarre. We felt like we’d stepped into a movie.
It’s an absolute must-see if you are in New Orleans.
New Orleans has a lot to offer and it’s almost impossible to see everything in one short trip. These are three must-see attractions in the city of jazz.
